The 3rd Annual Greyhound Alumni Football Challenge proved to be a huge success this year hosting over 40 former student-athletes in a single elimination tournament. The event took place April 16th-17th and began with a live draft at local establishment, McQ’s Pub & Eatery. Alumni were split into four teams and had the opportunity to challenge one another the following afternoon at Key Stadium. The Crimson Team, who was led by former Greyhound quarterback, Jeff Montfort, captured the title with a score of 22-20.

INDIANAPOLIS-The UIndy Greyhound Club hosted its first ever "Signing day" event on February 3, 2010. Over 75 Alumni, former letterwinners, and friends of the university gathered at McQ's Pub and Eatery to meet the new Greyhound Football Coach, Bob Bartolomeo. Appetizers and soft drinks were provided, along with a slideshow and brief remarks by Coach Bartolomeo regarding the 2010 signing class. The incoming recruits include 17 student-athletes from Indiana, Illinois and Ohio committed to enroll and play football for the Greyhounds in the fall.

The Department of Athletics and the Greyhound Club are pleased to announce the 2010 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Class. This year’s Hall of Fame ceremony and events will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2010. The inductees will be introduced at half-time of the Men’s basketball game vs. Drury University. The game begins at 3:00 p.m. with a dinner and induction ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on campus at the Schwitzer Student Center, UIndy Hall. The ceremony will feature the official Hall of Fame inductions and brief remarks by the inductees. Dinner tickets are $25 per person and $10 for children (12 and under). Reservations can be made by contacting the Athletic Development office (mdonovan@uindy.edu) or calling the office at (317)788-3359.

The latest community-engagement effort at the University of Indianapolis is not run of the mill. On the contrary, it’s run of the mile.
Athletics and campus staff staged “Indy’s Fastest Mile” during halftime of this past Saturday’s home football game against Wayne State (Michigan) to incorporate fitness, fans and fun.
Runners of all shapes, sizes and speeds started from inside the Greyhounds’ Key Stadium and wound around the Indianapolis campus on a one-mile course that brought them back to the stadium, where runners finished with a flourish through the team’s inflatable football helmet and down the track before the stadium’s main grandstand.
