OWENSBORO, Ky.- The UIndy men's soccer team picked up its fifth GLVC victory with a 3-1 win at Kentucky Wesleyan Sunday afternoon. The Greyhounds improve their overall record to 6-5-3, 5-3-2 in conference games. The Panthers fall to 0-15 on the year, 0-10 in GLVC matches.
Andrew Jones got UIndy on the board first, scoring on a ball from
Will Tanoury in the 28th minute of play. The score was Jones' team-leading seventh goal of the year.
Senior
Brian Fishback doubled the Greyhound lead at the 67-minute mark with his first goal of 2008 on a penalty kick. The Panthers would notch their lone score just more than a minute later, with a goal from Jonathan Hale.
Micah Uemura (pictured) scored the fourth UIndy goal of the day in the 87th minute for his fifth goal of the year.
Thomas McGuire assisted on the last UIndy score.
The Greyhounds fired off 22 total shots in the match while Kentucky Wesleyan took nine shots. UIndy had 10 corner kick chances to KWC's five.
Michael Crane manned the UIndy goal, making four saves on the day in his 11th complete game effort of the season.
UIndy hosts its final home contest of the season Friday night, with a 7:30 kick against Bellarmine. The eight Greyhound seniors will be honored prior to the match.
