The University of Indianapolis currently offers 21 varsity sports. The role of the Office of Sports Information is to disseminate information about student-athletes, coaches and the department to media as well as to the general public via the website. The SID is also responsible for maintaining historical archives for each of the varsity sports, reporting to the conferences and the NCAA, and assisting in promoting the UIndy athletic department and its teams.
Mitch Wigness is the Sports Information Director at UIndy. He has been in that post since May 1, 2005. You may contact him at (317) 788-3494 or via email at
mwigness@uindy.edu.
MEDIA GUIDES
Media Guides are a production of the UIndy Sports Information Office as a service to opposing teams and the media. The general public may purchase media guides at home events or may contact the Sports Information Department for more info. Football and men's and women's basketball media guides are $5 each, while other sports are individually priced. Check the website to see if a media guide is available for the sport you wish to purchase.
Information on the Indianapolis Greyhounds is available to members of the media and general public 24 hours a day through the various school and conference Internet websites. The Greyhounds' most up-to-date releases and statistics for many sports may be accessed throughout this website. The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) websites are each updated with scores, schedules, player of the week honors and weekly statistical updates. Current statistics will be available on athletics.uindy.edu following each athletic event.
GAME SERVICES
Programs, media guides, lineups, statistics, standings and notes will be supplied at all home baseball, basketball, football, softball and soccer games to accredited media representatives and scouts at Press Row (basketball), and Press Box (football, baseball, softball, soccer).
